Anxiously waiting for my UPS driver to arrive at about Noon with my new Metro(Thanks Jake and guys at Humbucker Music). For those who own one, what should I expect tone wise? I've heard clips, but what are some of your'e personal experiences with Mark Bartel, and the amp in general. I will report when I fire her up later this afternoon. I haven't been this excited to get an amp since I got my Goodsell 17 about 4-1/2 years ago!

In general expect a great sounding Marshall. Which model did you get?

Metropolitan with the Phase 4 Power Scaling feature on both channels.

Expect an awesome amp! Spend some time with the power scaling. Generally the rhythm channel doesn't need it, but it works wonders on the lead channel. There are also a lot of tones you can get by playing with the input sensitivity switch and the bright switch.
BTW - Tone King amps improve as they break in.

Played it for about 1 hour late this AM after it arrived. Unbelievable tone. My Am. Deluxe Strat with the SCN p/u's sounded better than ever thru this marvelous amplifier. It almost sounded like a 12 string the defenition was so astute. The Lead ch. has as much gain as I'll ever need, and it even sounded good with some pedals, and a delay thru it, although this amp may let me keep my pedals at home. The reverb is the best verb I've ever heard on an amp. Better than my 73SFTR, 96HRD 4X10, PRRI, or my sold DRRI. The Lance Keltner demo of the Metro is fantastic, I would would never be able to do better, but in truth, the amps sounds so much better than that demo, it's not funny. I've heard the gushing comments around here of course, and I now believe them to be 100% accurate. And what a beautiful, and well put together package it is. Built like a Mesa, at half the weight. I have the Brown one, and the Tolex is fab. as is the grilleclothe. Very, portable package. As someone else on TGP said, sure it's expensive, but spend the $$ on one of these, and save yourself the process of buying 2 or 3 amps that will never measure up to this fabulous rig. Hats off to Mark Bartel for one very fine amplifier. I'm very blessed. Merry Christmas Everyone.

Congrats!!!!
The build quality of TK amps is as good as it gets, Mark's attention to detail is astounding. I've owned three TK amps and they have all been absolutely remarkable, esp the clean channel sounds.
ENJOY!

riffmeister, reading your'e posts, helped me make the decision on the TK-Metro. Thanks for the words of wisdom, but really this amp surely speaks for itself.
