OK, TWO questions.

I am NOT a tech, so please forgive me for what might amount to be absolute stupidity here...

I saw a pretty simple BlueGuitar.org (http://blueguitar.org) mod for reducing harshness in the distortion of a Peavey Classic 50, particularly in the 4x10 version. To quote that page:"The Normal channel gets its signal from a .001uf cap paralleled with a 680k resistor, while the entire signal going to the OD channel is routed through a 470pf cap (C18)! A cap of that value will allow mainly treble and higher midrange frequencies through, and effectively blocks most of the low frequencies from V1A. To reduce the harshness of the OD channel, I recommend replacing C18 with a 820pf silver mica cap."
My questions are these: 1) What voltage rating of 820pf silver mica cap do I use for this? and 2) What is the best way to discharge the caps before I do this?

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. But remember, please keep it stoopit for me.
