I am in the market to get a Marshall, but I'm not quite sure where to start.
I'd like to spend about 800-1000 space bucks.
I'm currently using a Fender Twin Reverb RI for my cleans, and use a POD X3 live to do any dirt and effects.
I would prefer to trade in the Fender to sort of "downsize" to a half stack. :rotflmao
Any ideas on what model Marshalls I should be considering?

First of all, what are 'space bucks'?
Second, a late model JMP would probably do you fine.

I would get a used JCM800 combo with 1-12". If you get two twelves, it won't really be downsizing. Or a used DSL 1/2 stack, maybe for $900. And that certainly won't be downsizing either.
If you aren't a tube sniffer (snob) :), you might find that a Marshall MA Series is okay for you. They're not made in England, but in the far East. But they ARE Marshall. And you could get a NEW unit for $1000. Definitely a 2x12, maybe a 1/2 stack, not sure.
You better be sure your Pod sounds good with a Marshall. I couldn't get my Pod 2.0 to sound good with ANY tube amp.

Regular old dollars, hahaha.
A late model JMP, like what per se?

Definitely a tube sniffer, unfortunately.
I have been looking at DSL50s and 100s but am curious about how nicely they clean up and whether it would be even mildly comparable to the TRRI.

A TSL60 would make for a great half stack. The best advice play it before you buy it.

Play them all before you buy. Each different circuit sounds different.

Any advice about the TSL60?
About how clean can it get?

I would pass, on the tsl and just go for a jvm 210. There are a couple in the emporium and on harmony central for under $900. Imho, the tsl is a very thin sounding amp on higher gain settings. I also think the clean on the jvm sounds better than the tsl. Its marshalls best clean to date and would be a better replacement for the dr.

TSL bad.
DSL's are much better, but the newer ones seem better yet.
I'd go 800 or 900 combo, or jump to the new ones unless you want a head.
