What do you stack with a BB Preamp to kick it up a notch?

I really like my BB Preamp. It plays well with my DRRI and all of my guitars. I can't use it for many solos, though, as it just doesn't have enough thickness. I've got a Suhr Riot coming that I hope will be something I can switch over to for solos or just high gain songs, but I'm curious what you guys might use with your BB to add gain or girth.

Anything with strong mids and decent gain in front of a BB will work; so a good TS-type pedal would be the go-to. I remember having a Signadrive -> BB combo that sounded great.

This is exactely what I currently have on my board now: BB Premp and Riot.

I use the BB for crunch/low-to-moderate gain stuff and I use the Riot for hi gain stuff.

The BB is the drive pedal I like the most (out of a dozen or so boutique pedals I've owned in the last few years). But as much as I like it i found it to be useless for my higain needs becouse eanything that kicks it above classic marshall-gain territory makes it sound mushy/fuzzy on the low end and very indistinct, wich is unnacceptable for me.

If it has the gain amount you nedd and just need a little more oomph for leads, I'd say the clean boost side of a Z.Vex Box of Rock or clean boost of my T-Rex Moller did the best job so far - positioned before the BB.

I still have the T-Rex Moller as my first gain pedal in the chain and buffer and I set the dirt side of the moller w/ a generous amount of clean blended back in to take the BB to the upmost tolerated distortion level, right before the BB begins to loose definition.

So, I would recomend you the Moller.

If volume boost + "oomph" is what you need, than T-Rex Twin boost is possibly the way to go, placed AFTER the BB (wich is also what I use w/ my BB for those situations).

By the way.. It's hard to make the BB and Riot stack well, in any order (but that's just what I experimented with my set-up).

just bought that pedal the other day:) works well with my vox, I use it to add a tad a gain and thickness and it brings out the amp better!! those fender amps are way too bright and harsh i took mine back

I also have a Riot and a BB Preamp. I push the BB with a KokoBoost with good results.

I push mine with an Xotic EP Pre. Really thick and fat.

I stack my BB with a VooDoo Labs Sparkle Drive, I also have an RC Boost and EP Boost to really push it !
