So I got a pickup cover for a new pup (tremonti bridge). It doesn't appear that the holes line up perfectly with the pup. Is this going to be an issue? Should I even bother with the cover?

Well...it's an aesthetic thing for sure. But if you're not able to adjust the pole height, then I'd get something that fits.

I'm not too worried about the pole height... but I am worried that it'll somehow affect tone? Is it purely aesthetic?

Not being able to adjust the pole height could effect the tone. Never the less put them on and see how they sound.

I dunno...but it seems to me that: if the cover isn't seated properly due to the poles not lining-up w/ the holes, it might lead to microphonics. You want that cover firmly mated against the bobbins. I'd also think you'd want to be able to adjust the poles for optimum performance...?

One of two things:
That's a fender spaced cover (wider pole piece spacing)

Or you have it on crooked. Easy check put it on upside down with the face of the cover meeting face of the pup to check alignment.

I often come across the holes not perfectly lining up on P-90s and Jazzmaster pickups for some reason.

The problem with yours could also be because the cover could be metric.

It's a gibson bridge spaced pickup cover. I have a feeling I should have bought the neck spaced one for both pups... anyone have any experience with pickup covers for PRS guitars? Wish PRS sold their own, lol.
