Why do musicians keep adding me on LinkedIn?

Nah, it's happened to me too. My avatar on LI is me playing my guitar in a business suit, and I've gotten network invites from musicians as a result I guess? They usually want an "endorsement" of sorts...

It strikes me as odd, because some of these people have day jobs, but their linked in profiles detail their music stuff and not their careers. I can't envision a lot of scenarios in which having a strong LinkedIn presence would help you in a musical sense. Then again, a lot of people (musicians especially) like to send out Facebook friend requests to pretty much everyone who pops up in their suggestion box, so there's that too...

Check to see if you are in a group that is assocaited with musicians. I rarely get a request to add from someone I don't know unless it is group related.

Funny though, in my cube we were just yammering about this... not long ago I got a request from someone listed as an "independent military professional."
