I have had a Peavey Mace stored in my closet for 15 years and while researching replacement tubes for my F-50, I discovered that the Mace came with these tubes from the factory. I took a look and 6 of those bad boys were staring back at me. I have no way of testing or matching them , but would like to try them. Is it safe to assume that they were matched by Peavey?

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Regards,
Ron

Is it in your means to bias the amp?

If so just pop them in and try to get as close to matched in bias as you can - I'm sure the process will not hurt the amp or tubes.

These are great tubes, my personal favorites so far, even better than NOS RCA 6L6gcs. I find them best for good cleans in Fenders.

I have some of these but they have orange writing on them and look like a sylvania 6l6 gc dual getters from 70's

These are NOS pulled from a 70's peavey mace. Dual Getters as well.

I meant the NOS dual-getters as well . . . I didn't know newer wannabees existed

I've found some pretty choice tubes in old Peaveys.

I'm going to stick a pair in my Mesa F-50. I'm assuming that the tubes are matched???

I would think that is unlikely when the amp was made...probably close enough for production. Perhaps even less likely after use.

Well, the tubes were within 2Ma of one another!! Close enough for me. And they really sound terrific. Nice and airy.
