View Full Version : Wire for a marshall cab

hi guys,
i need some advice,
what type of wire is best for wiring a marshall 4x12 cab? what brand and gauge is best and where do i get it? i figure 14awg stranded is ok? or should it be larger or smaller?

14 guage is more then fine!

Any brand will do. "OFC "is the chit.


For Example, a famous named bass 4 x 10 cab
"the garden of _ _ _ _"
is wired with (If I recall correctly) 20 guage, perhaps 22 guage. I was amazed!

AND

With cheapo crimp connections.

Do yourself a favor and go down to your local Home Depot and pick up some 16 AWG lamp cord.
Anything bigger won't fit through the speaker terminal eyelets,
or give you audible improvement anyway, IMHO.

Just wrap around and solder.

OR

Use crimp on connectors.

wire and were concerned about it.
