Any opinions on this pedal?
Looks interesting and the clips sound good, just wondered if anyone is using one.
Thanks.

Im about to get one of these for a simple small board using the side track and effects loop for easy switching...ill let you know when I do if no one responds
I am wondering how different the tightrock and tight metal pedals are. They seem to overlap.
tight rock is half way between the tight metal and the tight drive, but it can do high gain also with the boost.

I have a Tight Drive and Tight Rock, the Tight Rock is a definate high gain pedal, it could do early metal, but night quite a modern metal type pedal, that is where the Tight Metal comes in. The Tight Rock has more than enough gain for me and most of the 70' 80's classic rock we cover. Its a great sounding pedal, cant belive it has not had more popularity yet, it gets that high gain drive with out sounding messing, stays tight and controled with pretty decent clarity at that level of gain. Good luck... Jim

Thanks for the replies, I think I'm going to take the plunge. There's another thread going about Amptweaker and there are enough positive comments to make me think it will be worth a try.

I got all four of the amptweaker pedals and they all sound incredible. The tight control really shines with having a very natural tube like response in that it sags the tone.
I play metal and both the thight metal and tight rock feel awesome for that saturated palm muted sound. Great pedals, great prices, great sounds, great builder, great features.

Yeah I started one of the threads after buying my kid a Tight Metal. Awesome incredible pedal. So much so I am thinking of getting a Tight Rock now. Don't need one as I have a Wampler Pinnacle but the Amptweaker pedals are as good as any high end boutique and probably better than most.

Another think I like about the TightRock, is when I tried other high gain pedals they either felt very loose or uncontroled when set at a high gain of 3/4's or more, and on some it was a fight with feed back with the high gain saturation even at slightly lower volumes. Have not had either issue with the Tigh Rock, and it is super quite when turned on, which is sometimes a rare feature in higher gain drives. Jim

Man these look great and the features are off the chart, hand it to James, he has a great sense what works and what doesn't.
I feel his smart innovations at Peavey pushed the whole industry to keep up and the whole amp world is better for him, now the distortion world better look out!

Some folks have question a comparision between the new Tight Rock and the Tight Drive. Well I happen to have both and did a quick comparision for a member so I though I would post it here as well. I set the Tone pretty similar, the T Drive had to have the tone turned up about 1/4 of a turn higher to match some what to the edgy tone of the T Rock.
1) T Rock gain boost OFF Gain set at "0" is equal to T Drive Gain around "10 or 11"
2) T Drive set Gain at "5:00" cranked full on is equal to the T Rock with gain boost OFF and Gain at "2".
3) T Rock gain boost ON Gain set at "0" is equal to T Drive Gain around "2 / 3"
The T Rock also has a more modern edgy gain sound as compared to the T Drive which is a more smooth overdrive tone. Both are great, I think they will both stay on my board. Jim

Agreed. James is a fantastic guy to do business with, and I sincerely love the Amptweaker pedal I own.

I've been messing around with my new Tight Rock pedal. Overall it is an excellent pedal. It can deliver some astounding fat, focused, high gain lead tones and the pinch harmonics (ala La Grange) are really really easy to dial up.
It seems EQ'd on the bright side. To get a dark enough sound on my bridge HB I have to turn the tone all the way to bass and the tight control all the way down too. I'm wondering if this is normal or if mine is unusual in this regard.
The overall sound might be a little aggressive for my taste but then I'm an old school rock kinda guy so keep that in mind.
Also, I've only tried it through my 12 watt Princeton clone and the pedal in 9 watt mode.
I will open it up at a gig this weekend with my 50 watt Heritage Colonial and will run the pedal at 18 watts. I'll follow up with a post afterwards.
Great pedal!

Great pedal!
Just got my Tight Rock the other day and I'm having the same issue. I'm using a strat with a humbucker in the bridge and I'm unable to dial out the high end with the tone knob on the pedal. The only way to tame the treble seems to be with my tone knob on my guitar.
Anyone else experiencing this or have a solution? How did the pedal react in 18v Dave?
