Hi all
Anyone used the 896 with the 896HD in tandem? I've used one for years, but picked up the other recently for 16 channels of Analogue input. In Logic I can select one or the other as i/o, but can't get Logic to see both. Clock synch is OK, I can slave either one off of the other fine.
Path is laptop --> 896HD --> 896 --> External HD. All connections firewire.
Any ideas?

You can't have two firewire devices connected... DAWs will always see them as two separate interfaces. One of them needs to slave to the other via Lightpipe and BNC wordclock.

I believe since Tiger on a Mac you can create an Aggregate Device in Audio MIDI Setup utility.
Here are links for Leopard and SnowLeopard...

Perfect! Thanks. (though Snow Leopard link is http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3956)
Created an aggregate interface called MOTU Pair, can select that as audio i/o in Logic and it sees the whole list of inputs and outputs. Will test this evening after work but not after anything fancy, just the 16 analogue interfaces simultaneously. This looks perfect, thanks once again Retro. :aok
