I have my 2x12 cab wired for 16 ohms using two 8 ohm greenbacks.

I think I had the wires from the jack to the speakers reversed. I swapped them and now get a clearer more musical tone.

Does it matter if these wires are reversed?

I posted this in another forum and was basically told simply reversing the phase of both speakers in your 2x12 will make no appreciable difference whatsoever.

Is this true? because I can hear a BIG difference. I am not sure if I reversed the phase or not

this is what I have done...

2x12 8 ohm speakers to 16 ohms I run the pos wire to the pos side of speaker A. The neg wire to the neg side of speaker B. then run a wire from speaker A neg to speaker B pos. Correct?

I had actually ran the neg side of the jack to the pos side of speaker A (and vise versa with speaker B).

thanks

yep , thazzit , and somewhere around here there's a large thread on phase difference . After much yadayada/scientology/peanut brittle , the bottom line was try it and see if you like it . :D
