I am looking for a good BF to Tweedish amp. I know the Rambler but was interested in some others as well. Any with a master volume or power scaling for home use as well?

Thanks

Chris

What wattage are you looking for?

I'll be interested to see what you turn up. Be sure to post it here. Me, I'm stuck on the Carr Rambler. I tried one again over the holidays and in the two weeks since I've been obsessing about that amazing sound. It just has a beautiful texture. I'm no expert on boutique amps, so have no real idea what else is comparable.
If I hadn't put a freeze on my spending, there would be a Rambler downstairs.

When I got my Kustom '36 Coupe, I had people refer to it as a "Poorman's Carr Rambler". It has a Master Volume on both channels. The sound is somewhere between a tweed with more clean headroom, and a blackface with more Mids. Overall, it's been my favorite amp.

^^ I looked up the Kustom '36 Coupe. It wasn't on Kustom's main page, but it was findable on Google. They have other amps on their Web page. I wonder if any are of the same quality (without the tuck-and-roll decoration, let's say).

Seems like every time Carr comes up so does Tone King, and vice versa.

They dropped the Made in USA Coupes. They replaced them with MIC Defenders. I still own own a '36 Coupe, and a Defender V15. I'm very happy with both of them. The V15 is more like a Pro Jr (15watts), with a single Volume and Tone control. But it still does do that tweed/blackface sound.
