Irritable male syndrome (IMS) is defined as a state of hypersensitivity, anxiety, frustration, and anger that occurs in males and is associated with biochemical changes, hormonal fluctuations, stress, and loss of male identity. This term covers symptoms thought to be caused by a drop in testosterone levels in male mammals. It is a striking feature in mammals with seasonal breeding patterns at the end of the mating season.

There is an entire episode of King of the Hill devoted to this very subject.
It is Season 8, Episode 4 (2003)--"The Incredible Hank"
--When Hank and Peggy take Bobby to the doctor to find an explanation for sub-par performance in gym class, they learn that testosterone can be used to treat "irritable male syndrome," of which Hank has been showing some symptoms. The doctor prescribes the hormone to Hank, who refuses it. But Peggy salvages the prescription and secretly dopes Hank. He bulks up physically and psychologically, preparing to run with the bulls in an Arlen festival. Peggy reveals her subterfuge to the doctor, who prescribes a testosterone patch applied to Hank's scrotum to adjust his hormone level gradually. She confesses to Hank and tries to dissuade him from running with the bulls. He insists on doing the run and survives, winning his son's admiration.

The actual term is: diminished gluteal syndrome, or DGS. The lawnmower race was classic KOTH.

Then again, too much testosterone can lead to douchebaggery too....

What irritability are we talking about? This is a MUCH kinder, gentler place than it was when I joined. Most of the crotchety old farts have been banished. The few who remain have evidently been subjected to lengthy re-education/re-indoctrination programs involving suspensions and possibly electroshock therapy, so they're much nicer now (though I think a few drool and have a thousand-yard stare)....
It was more fun back in the day though. Got the blood going every now and again.
