Holy frack! :omg
If I could sing that that...I would.
Chops!
Great musicians, but a monumental waste of time spent on tunes of that quality. Also, I feel a strong urge to strangle the singer. Just my $.02 and it's probably worth less than that.

Pretty much the opposite. Time very well spent. Those tunes got them hits on Youtube, and landed them a deal. They're recording their originals now.
Brilliant marketing scheme.
30 seconds and google.

I was starting to think I was the only musician in the world that doesn't dig it.
I would be interested to hear a record if they put their talents to good songs.

What will make me laugh is if they record their own songs, and they don't sound as good as the covers they "normally" seem to play. And there is a VERY good chance their own material might not sound as good as the covers.
They could end up with some generic fusion thing. I'd love to hear them write some decent pop stuff and apply their skills to that. Mark my words though, their own record probably wont sound as good as these trite covers.

Well sure, that's kinda the point.
:p
I'm not a pop guy but I'll take real musicianship over the manufactured crap any day.

They grow on ya! I never really liked them until I actually LISTENED. Holy crap. If pop music would take a lesson from these guys, the world would be a better place.

Only a TGP'r, who spends more time behind a computer than actually practicing an instrument, could criticize these musicians.....

these guys are well schooled and from Sweden, IIRC. They can play and obviously arrange.

So they got 1.2 million hits on that one video from musicians?

Pretty talented bunch, not a fan of the song, but everything else is great.

When your video has Justin Bieber in the title, you're going to get a lot of hits. How many little girls do you think stayed with the video? I would bet they've received many, many return hits from tens of thousands of musicians.
I think the bassist is brilliant. The keyboard player and drummer are very good musicians. The singing for me, not so much, and that's all I'll say. To this opinion, I believe I'm entitled.

Out of all the covers they have up on YouTube, I think this is the best. It really makes the original pale in comparison.

Lawd, Lawd, Lawd -- that's what kids or grown ups alike should dig -- can not believe some do not get it. I bet the ones being critical are not REAL musicians.

Got to say I agree. This is what should be 'pop' music nowadays.
It isn't what I would normally listen to ( or buy ) but if there were more bands/musicians like this on MTV instead of all the manufactured crap and the gangsta rappers I might switch on the TV once in a while to see what was happening.

Yes, you are right: I'm not a "real" musician.

They are a real tight group, great musicians. I would have appreciated the music more if
I didn't know it was a Justin Bieber tune
They weren't in the video. A band logo with the song in the backgroup would have been better.

Reminds me of Jamiroquai, a similarly polarizing band full of ridiculous talent.

Rhythm section = evil. (although the bass solo break, as proficient as it is, sounds like a smoove "jazz" station).
I'd suspend judgment until hearing some originals.
