Through my Grado headphones, I was listening to this clip of Steve playing through a Badger 18....DAY-UM! It sounds killer. I actually prefer the tone he was getting before he kicked in the BB pedal.
It starts at 1:36. :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CGJfPbttx5w

I agree that it sounds better without the BB+ pedal.

Re post this on the sound hound page. Or better yet on rig talk lol. There are a few SS threads going there.
Great clip btw!
I like the 18 watt overdrive. No need for a pedal. That demonstration should have been with a forty watt American amp.

That amp does indeed sound good. I prefer his clip using the EWS "Little Brute Drive" over the BB+

Aaahhh....thanks John, On another thread, I was guessing it was the Badger 18.
I have to say, these clips are having me reconsidering lower wattage amps. The tone is huge. Any idea what drive pedals, if any are being used in this clip?

Great sounding amp-it's funny that he plays a little Zeppelin and does the classic rock thing-I remember a story-not sure if it's true-of Billy Idol giving them the finger because they were dinasours. He's a great player though.

Hi, I was using my Plexitone, amp set pretty clean (gain on 4 or 5 on the amp), and Steve was using the gain pretty much dimed on the amp, rolling down for cleans, and hitting a Suhr Shiba Drive for even more gain...
