69 Fender Mustang - Opinions please

Hi everybody;
I'm toying with the idea of selling a few pedals and picking up an old mustang I've seen for sale -it's a 69 model Dakota Red with tortoise shell pguard and rosewood neck - looks killer.
Seller claims it's "set up for slide" - sdo I'd have to lower the action I guess - I've sent him an email requesting info as to whether it's all original or resprayed etc so I don't know that yet
What say you? Yay or nay? Great tones in this one? Build quality? Collector potential?

I like the original 60's Mustangs. They are a lot of fun. I can't comment on the price, since that will depend on originality and condition of the guitar.

As long as "set up for slide" doesn't mean "unable to be properly set up" then go for it.

That was my first thought too - I've always entertained the idea of having a guitar dedicated to slide but it'd be nice if the action can be lowered without too much fuss

Seller just got back to me - is a refinish and didn't know if it was all-original. Guess I'll pass then!

I have a 69. I don't think tort was originally offered on these.

Tort guard would have been White.
1969 were mostly Competition colors. It could be a very early one.

If its not original, then he is asking WAY too much. FWIW, Mustangs were never meant to be slide guitars. That alone would have me bailing out. If my memory serves me... 69's Comps came in 3 colors: Blue, Red, and Orange, all with faux MOP pick guards, and had matching headstocks. This is mine.
