What does Oscillation sound like?

I've read where if you mod an amp for too much gain that "oscillation" will occur. I'm not going to be doing that but, was just wondering what that sounds like for future refference.

Oscillation in an amp can sometimes sound like a motorboat-like rumble, sometimes it can sound like a high pitched squeal, and sometimes it can even be above human hearing range (radio frequencies).
