yes. Especially if it's what you have. :)

Are there newer and better things... sure. If you're writing and recording project stuff, you can get great tones with it.

not really, no. The pod 2 is many years old and therefore much cheaper. If you're looking to invest a few hundred, get a newer version as they do sound better. If you want to pick one up at a good used price, there's nothing wrong with it. I still get great tones out of my Pod Pro (ver 2). The Soldano model is incredible.

Make sense?

I use a Pod 2.0 at church all the time on the "Blackface" model. Spectacular tone. Honestly better than it seems like it should be. More like an "Ideal Blackface."

Yeah, it does quite well.
I was working on a little indie CD a while back, and mostly using mic'd amps and a Sansamp Liverpool direct. At one point, I had an idea for a rhythm track for a song, and found the POD 2 nearby and quick and easy to set up, so I hooked it up, dialed in my favorite setting on there (nice clean blackface), and recorded the track.
It sounded great and fit nicely in the mix.

It's one of those pieces of equipment I'll probably always keep around.
