Howdy, Can any one tell me what the difference in tone is between these two types, and what level of impedence the 57 PAF Classics are??

AFAIK, the only time Gibson used low impedance pickups in LPs was with the Professional, Personal, and Recording guitars in the '70s. They were low output, very clean, and didn't 'drive an amp properly' so they never found much love in the days when Super Distortions were the hip mod.

Not to be confused with high and low DC resistance pickups, where the range runs from 7.something K to 16+ K ohms.

The Les Paul Signature model also has low impedance pickups.
