Neve Portico 5017 vs Radial JDV for live and studio use.

I am considering getting a Neve Portico 5017 and selling my Radial JDV. I am interested in using it for both for live and studio use. To record direct, live direct, and for a preamp for my mic when micing the amp.

Should I not hesitate on this?

Neve makes great pieces of gear. It may however be a bit overkill for live use as the benefits of higher end gear are not always noticeable thru a PA . Studio/recording work is where you will get the most return on your investment IMO.

Seems like overkill to me as well for the same reasons. You'd get better results if you improve your pickups rather than change DI in a live setting IMO.
