You know I've lived here for 7 plus years and I've asked people that lived here during the time. The explainable theory was that it was aircraft from Luke AFB.

Maybe from the solar flare and aurora. Depending on the video camera that sort of EM could show up as a flare on the sensor....did that camera happen to be facing north?

Maybe some idiot put too much lighter fluid on the Weber. That, or any one of an infinite number of perfectly reasonable explanations.

I love how they reference the lights in the sky from '97, as if that has anything to do with an apparent explosion at ground level.

Both incidents involved lights that couldn't *immediately* be explained. Must have been the same aliens.

Hmm, almost interesting, but not all that remarkable.

Looking at the video, it seems like it could be any distant light that shined directly into the camera for a split second. Car in a parking garage, aircraft, dumbass with a laser pointer....
Any of those would have caused a flare with the gain turned up on a CCD at that time of day. It could have been an infrared source as well.

Weather balloon or swamp gas, imo.

It looked like yet another attenuator thread blowing up to me...

Some guy I barely remember told me the flash of light we saw in the sky was not a UFO. Swamp gas from a weather balloon was trapped in a thermal pocket and reflected the light from Venus.

The Phoenix lights, part II.

Glad you dug that up; it was exactly the scene I had in mind. Though, I think Homer emptied a bottle and a half of lighter fluid on the grill in the actual footage. Oooo! Here it is:

That was definitely an explosion of some sort. Looked like a transformer but could have been just about anything. Someone out there knows what it was and isn't talking. Methlab maybe. LOL

I saw something similar years ago driving on I-10 in Gulfport.

Kinda stormy, overcast night and the whole sky lights up to the south, like a bomb went off but no sound.

Paper next day said a large bird [seems like a hawk iirc] had hit something in a power station area [power line or transformer]. Poof! It was incredibly bright. I guess the skies helped 'amplify' it.

All you have to do is look at how exaggerated the headlights [in the video] are to see it wasn't that huge.

Nothing to see here folks....

It took several days for this simple explanation to come out, because the aliens had to deprogram all actual witnesses.
