Post stuff w/unique vocals... guys who aren't chops-y singers, but whose voices work wonders in the context of their own music.

I'll start (skip ahead to 1:15 or so, and don't miss the high hat!)

edit: I read it as "Post Rock" as in the genre, not as in "post some Rock." My bad. :facepalm I'll leave that up anyway since it's an awesome band and an awesome song.

They're brilliant... as good as any band.

Haha I read it as "Post-Rock" too, and was like Waaaait Mew isnt post-rock.

But regardless, Mew and Appleseed Cast - cant go wrong with them!

These guys are my current favorites - The Dear Hunter (and don't pay attention to "New Album" - it's not anymore since they released The Color Spectrum)

Oh yeah... I mean "post" as a verb, not a preposition.

I'm still perplexed by the vocal treatment on this one, not to mention the absolutely nasty groove.

The stereo split thing is just nuts.

Does it make me an old man that I think Post Rock shouldn't have vocals? Unless you are Slint.

I'm kinda old, and I disagree. Sigur Ros, man.

In any case, it's been established that this thread isn't about Post Rock anyway. :p

I guess I don't see Sigur Ros as Post Rock, but arguing labels is a waste of time so I'm happy to shut up about it.

Let me then throw out some others that will fit this thread:

[...btw, what the heck's 'Post Rock'? No drums, no gtrs, no beat? and back to the Patti Page sound?]

Basically... using traditional rock instrumentation in a non-traditional manner. It tends to be instrumental.
