The gentleman that owns Katz's Marina on Lake Hopatcong, lives in my town here and he owns one of each of these cars. He also owns a 'Bat Boat' from the TV series and two boats from the movie 'On Golden Pond'. The 'Thayer IV' and the 'Mariah' (the Mariah was the U.S. Mail boat).

Yep, I doubt either of those boats would break into the 14's with that kinda power. The Barris Batmobile is way cooler to me, but I grew up watching the TV series.

This is where I had to pause the clip to comment. First things first, the girl is really cute. OK, now, neither one of those cars is touching 13 seconds, let alone 10. Maybe....MAYBE he meant 1/8 mile, but more than likely he was just blowing smoke up her skirt. And I'd like to see those things at 150. I bet parts would be flying off of them.

I remember seeing the Futura at a car show in the early '60's. It was already a classic by that time. Stunning vehicle, sort of a pearl sparkle finish with a champagne tan interior.

Fun video. Glad the '66 won, and not just for the bikini. I think that particular Batmobile is still the best looking. Never liked the Tim Burton one - looks like a Oscar Meyer Weinermobile.

Only time I have ever seen a GTO stationwagon-it was badass....

ok, i thought the '66 batmobile was cool in like 1969 when i was 5 yrs old.
the '89 batmobile i thought looked cool, wasn't really sure of its true functionality in real life out side of movies.

for me the coolest batmobile is the tumbler from batman begins. that car rocks!

and yes, in the early 90s i saw one of the original tv series batmobiles on display when i lived in IN, boy i thought it looked cheezy. granted it was 20+ yrs old by that time!!!

The Futura was the only real TV Batmobile. Barris made a mold from it and many fiberglass replicas to tour the country. Those cars are for whatever reason called "real". Barris makes many replicas of cars he had nothing to do with and calls them "real". Like General Lee's, the Monkeemobile, and Back to the Future Delorean, and many other famous star vehicles.
