Had a weird dream about John Mayer

I had this dream where John Mayer came over to my house to jam. It was really casual, felt like this wasn't the 1st time I had jammed with him, but it was still new enough that I was still pretty excited.

so we went into my jam room and I was showing him my new mark V (i don't own a mark V, I have a mesa rectoverb but I had both in the dream).


best part was that all he wanted to do was play metallica covers haha

I just sat there and thought 'man, this guy's alright' haha



it was really disappointing to wake up and not have a mark V :(

those peaveys are MEAN! My 1st tube amp was a 5150, loved it!

I really can't justify the mark right now. I LOVE my recto, won't ever sell it (this actually replaced a dual I had in college). So my dirty sounding amp bases are covered. I really want a vintage fender or a two rock for cleans. I'd be mad at myself if I bought another high gain amp before getting something for cleans lol.

Maybe john can come over and help me dial in some rockin' tones when I get my next amp :p

So u like your recto better than the dual? I have a 1:12 recto combo and I absolutely love it. Best amp I've ever owned. But I was thinking of trading it even up for a dual someone has. I've been going back and forth on weather to do it or not.

And I'd he all about jamming some Justice with Mayer. That would be pretty badass.

Yeah to me the rectoverb is a better amp. I had the 3 channel dual recto in college and I loved it. The ROV has the same recto tone but the clean channel is actually usable. I can make it sound really beautiful with light flange/delay. The pushed preamp circuit is pretty good for some gritter stuff.

I also like the fact that my ROV doesn't have that diamond plate face. It's just got the black jute with the smaller mesa logo. Looks more 'grown up'. I really love the amp.

If I had my choice of metallica material to jam to with Mayer, I'd probably go for Lightning or Justice era stuff :agree
