I just got this pedal off of a trade today and wow... am I impressed! I was reluctant to get this pedal as I couldn't find many detailed answers to the questions I had anywhere so I thought I would write I little bit about how great it is!
First off, I am playing through an American tele into a blues Junior (upgraded with JJ tubes and Jensen C12N speaker). I keep the amp on a clean setting.
I was looking for a pedal that would give my tone a nice round sound and a bit of crunch. This pedal is extremely versatile in terms of gain because the pedal also includes an internal trim pot. So this pedal can go from anywhere from a nice low gain to a screaming distortion. Both ways, it sounds fantastic! The sound is very well balanced and adds great tone to your sound.
The pedal has a great small footprint. It's easy to use and the four knobs allow you to dial in all kinds of tone. This little thing packs some serious punch! Whether you're on the neck pickup or the bridge, this thing does it well! I'm extremely impressed with this pedal and will look into more Menatone pedals in the future.
