Hi,
i have a chance to buy a Les Paul Classic Premium Plus from the early 90s. Any body has experience with these axes? I prefer 60s neck and taller frets. Do you know which frets tehse guitars have? I like to shred, so small frest are nogo...

Got one, and for years didn't play it much because I wasn't that crazy about the pups. The stock 500T/496R combo is all about shredding - to my ears, way too harsh. I finally swapped out the pups and slapped a Bigsby B7 on it and now it's one of my favorite guitars.
Classics don't get that much respect around here, but those Premium Plus tops can be pretty nice, and the slim taper neck works well for those of us more used to a Fender/Gretsch neck profile. I'd call the frets "medium jumbos", but others might disagree. They're not small, at least imho.
Aim for one of the earlier '90's models, they say "Les Paul Model" on the headstock rather than "Les Paul Classic". Supposedly, these are the better vintage Classics.
Good Luck!

it says les paul classic and is from 1993. The seller told me that it has ONLY 8.55 lbs ??? That light? these shouldnt be weight relieved?
Is a Slash AFD USA a better guitar in your opinion?
It has the slim neck too , but better pickups !

I've owned more than a few Classics over the years. The early '90s are fantastic guitars if you like the thin neck.
The weight relief is the older style

Nice guitars
usually a thin neck
the Premium Plus should have a georgous flame top
most people don't like the pickups .... although some metal heads like them .. I put burstbuckers in my old Classic and it really helped IMHO

Funny you should mention the Slash guitar, because before I swapped out the pups, that's exactly how I referred to my Classic: "my Slash guitar". It was great for that hard rocking, Marshall stack kind of sound, but that was it. Kind of a one trick pony.
I'm not familiar with the Slash AFD, so can't compare. But if that's the sound you want, the stock 500T/496R combo will definitely put you there!
Weight? I don't pay much attention there. LP's usually clock in somewhere around 8-9 pounds. If it's not heavy, it's not an LP!
