BLUES JR, III, or limited edition

What the heck is the differences between these amps? Blues Jr, III, or limited edition. Anything other than cover, tubes, additions or whatever, I'd like to know. thanks

All I know is I have played them all and the one I like the best is the old green board ones. All the others were kind of brite to my ears.

To be honest I havent played a III , but have owned a USA and mexico made model.I now own a NOS with the jensen .I have to say this is my favorite so far.The III has a "sparkle mod" that gives it more of a blackface tone (I believe) and a regular jewel light.

Goes into detail about the earlier ones. The only real (read: non-cosmetic) difference with the 3 other than the speaker is the sparkle mod as mentioned above. IMO this does not make the amp more blackface sounding. But then again I don't even think it makes the amp brighter sounding. I played my III (when I owned it) beside an earlier version and the earlier version was much brighter and harsher. The III never got icepicky like that on me and was overall a smoother sound I thought.

But honestly if you are buying one of these unless you really like the look of a particular version (and there's nothing wrong with that) you should probably just get one that you get a good deal on and then put any speaker/tubes in it you like.
