May 22nd!!! I can't wait! Their debut studio album was good, but didn't really capture their live performance energy and didn't showcase the bands incredible improvisational skill/band cohesiveness. Now we'll have that and each track is 10 plus minutes so tons of jamming! Also if you pre-order, you get a bonus track ;)

a bit disappointed in their tour schedule, not many North Eastern shows until late in the year!

They need a big wall for the obligatory line-up photo.

Is Derek playing a Firebird now?

Trucks could be standing there between a dozen naked women, and this question would appear. TGP......

I believe he uses the firebird ocassionally live and in the studio, but I doubt anything can pull him away from that SG

Wow thanks for the heads up OP. I actually almost bought the LP for Revelator today but decided not too in hopes of finding it a bit cheaper. Think I will be purchasing this instead...

Oh I know, I've been listening to that album non stop. I'd just rather have a live cut of the band on vinyl if I am going to be spending the money. (Although I will end up buying both at some point anyway)

Seeing them doing Learn How to Love live on tv-can't remember what show, really made the studio version pale, even though it's great too. Can't wait for the live cd. That studio video was really cool though. Derek just oozes tone and I love Susan's voice.

Of course, with all the shows recorded & torrented, I still don't have the one I saw last year.....

Is Derek playing a Firebird now?

I saw the TTB 2 weeks ago & all he played was 2 red SG's, his regular one with all the autographs, and another identical a few times when I guess his regular went backstage for a tuneup.

Great live band, looking forward to the release. Revelator is good, but their live show is where it's at!

Really looking forward to their live album. I've seen Derek and Susan in several different configurations of their bands and their live shows are way better than their studio efforts in my opinion. I saw them several weeks ago for this tour and the set was amazing. Nothing on the album comes close to touching their live shows.

My word, yes. Perhaps you could suggest a more appropriate forum to post such a question. A guitar forum, perhaps?

Their 10-September-2011 show at the Beacon was my personal show of the year, beating out GY!BE, Sonic Youth's last NYC show, Paul Simon at Webster Hall, and a host of others.
