I can only afford to get one....which one would you choose? (hof reverb is on the back burner for now)

Using it for p/w..if that matters.

Do you prefer tweakability and more options or a one-setting type reverb?
BSR - tweaking, more options
WET - more natural, lush reverb

But everyone's different. Just my opinions.

I've owned both multiple times. It comes down to what you need feature-wise. Totally just my opinion but:

-If you want a preset switch and/or shimmer, and will be using it mostly for "tamer" reverb sounds, go BSR.

-If you will be using it often for extremely long decays for ambient stuff, I've always thought the WET's subtle modulation at longer settings was more pleasing than the BSR's decay and would go with that.

At the end of the day it's hard to go wrong with either though, because they both really do sound phenomenal.

completely different pedals...we can't decide for you...your music style will decide for you...

I want to be able to use it in a praise setting...sound more lush and full. Able to blend with my timmy and delay. :stir

Had the BSR and never really bonded with it. Maybe I set it wrong but it always seemed a bit metallic and kind of disappeared in the band mix (Tele, SFDR, low volume acoustic folk/rock).

Got the Wet ...lush, natural, organic ...instant bond.

What ChampReverb said.
The WET is phenomenal. Easier than heck to dial in Awesome sounds. (had/sold BSR and HoF) And i don't even have the latest version!!

BUT... if you wanna tweak...

And personally, if you want shimmer, i did not like the BSR. Just did not do it that well, in MO.
I am gonna go hide in my in-law's air raid shelter now. (yes, they have one, ca. 1962)

so the shimmer was better on the wet than the blue sky? this might clinch it...

Ahhhhhhh, there is no shimmer on the Wet.

I'd suggest both if you can Swing it... I go BSR Shimmer into Wet... :)

Unless you need the shimmer, i'd say get the Stereo Wet.

wet --read--ambient
bsr--read--shimmer

nothing sounds like a WET...in a class of its own

I too have both ...haven't really bonded with BSR...can't get it dialed into many usuable settings...it is too complex...WET is simplest

Curveball...

TC Hall of Fame

Extra money in pocket and fantastic lush reverb sounds that sit in a mix extremely well.
YMMV

I have both (I just doubled checked and the Wet is a v3); both are great, but if I just had to pick one, it would be the BSR.

Plate is cool.
Shimmer is ethereal.
Spring sounds right.
Room is what it is.

The Wet is easy to adjust. The BSR is really easy for me too.

what do you guys think about having a timeline and choosing one, then which one would do the best?

I went w/ the WET for simplicity/stellar tone, no regrets.

Both are great but I prefer the WET. The BSR sounds great but still a little bit processed to my ear. Doesn't seem to bother a lot of people though.

Have not yet had the opportunity to try Strymon products...but I absolutely love the WET for ambiant fill and lushness. Because it is its own thing, as previously stated, I prefer it...no springy sound or anything simulated, just its own type of musical depth.

I haven't tried the Strymon, but that's exactly how I feel about the WET.

Tough choice... Hmmm... I'd probably choose the Wet.

Anyone use the wet for praise?

Love my WET, small, simple 9volt adapter and 2 knobs that provide a surprising amount of flexibility. When used live, you can hear it without it dominating your sound in digital sterility or preset "springyness". For regular applications it just sounds like really good amp reverb, but you can go to the moon and back in a very musical way if you prefer. For over 100 bucks more, the Strymon simply wasn't an option with the Van Amps stuff around the same price and a real tube standalone not much more.

Not a lot of feedback on this one. I had a similar question as I have a Timeline. On the BSR shimmer demos I have listened to I think Ice on the Timeline...sooo, maybe Wet with Timeline?

The wet is better for 1 sound. The bsr is better for multiple sounds. They are both simple to use. The wet is braindead simple. Bsr is more versatile. If I had to pick 1: probably couldn't, I need multiple verbs.

honestly dude, the best thing to do is just take the plunge and try one. they're both amazing units and if you don't like one, you can sell it within a few hours here and try the other. but I think most of what can be said, has been said.

It's true... I finally decided to buy the BSR and liked it a lot but was still wanting. I got the Stereo Wet shortly after and it was immediately a keeper, I knew it.
But either way - I ended up keeping both.

I've owned the BSR since it became available. I bought a Wet, used it for about 2 days, then returned it. The BSR has a lot more functionality. The upcoming Flint from Strymon looks and sounds great, too.

How does the use of reverb differ when you use it for "praise" versus any other style of music?

I've never tried the Strymon line but, I own 2 WET's and couldn't be happier. Although, I'm not a tweaker and I like simple. Turn amp and reverb on then, turn amp and reverb off.

Like others have said, it does well in a live mix and with overdrive pedals.

I like the Hermida reverb too, but it's not the deep/lush reverb that the WET is. The Hermida sounds great through a tweed circuit, IMO.

Right after I made my post last night, I did just this. WET Stereo it is! Definitely not ruling out the BSR or Flint!
