Please name some famous commercial radio tunes which have the
same rhythm for verse & chorus.
I occasionally play the cocktail set in my wedding band and want record & loop just a few chords on the fly while i play the melody. Playing changes would take too long.
Thanx

Stand by me is a good example.

Once In A Lifetime - Talking Heads, same bass/drum lick thru the whole song.

You can do that spaz-attack/arm-choppy thing, too. Chicks dig it.

Tons and tons of commercial songs use the same rhythm throughout...especially once you get out of rock into more pop, dance, rap type tunes. But it sounds like you want more than the same rhythm though....you want the same chord progression too. That's a little tougher. I don't know how "cocktail" these are, but:

Fly Away by Lenny Kravitz is the same 4 chord riff for the entire song.
Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love by Van Halen is the same 2 chord riff for the entire song.

Ohhhh....here's a good "cocktail" one:

Fields of Gold by Sting. If you omit the bridge I think that could be made to work with some simple looping chords.

Thanx everyone.
Some good stuff.

yeah smallbutmightly, "chord progression" is a better word.
I meant rhythm as opposed to lead.

The more vocally melodic the better. "once in a lifetime" may be difficult during the talking verse parts.

U2 seems to be a good source. Didn't "It's A Beautiful Day" also use the same chord progression throughout the song?

The "listening to you" part of The Who's "See Me, Feel Me" is the same progression over and over.

Ok then, Psycho Killer, And She Was, Stop Making Sense etc...they have tons that are like that.
