Guilty, I realize but lately I've been listening a lot to the later Black Keys albums and I'm trying to decide what other type of Fuzz should I add to my CW Big Muff ?
A SuperFuzz ~or~ its predecessor, the FY-2 Companion?
I'm looking for the biggest bang for my buck that would compliment the tones I'm looking for as well as be versitile.

I have both and they are really quite unlike each other.
The FY-2 does one thing - you either like it, or you don't. It doesn't reach unity gain, it has controls with a very feeble range, you have to submit to what it does and accept it as the electric razor tone everyone loves it for.
Everyone I've tried (a half dozen or so) sounded exactly like mine.
SuperFuzzes vary a LOT, they were made for a long time and underwent some minor changes. The best of them actually DO clean up with the guitar's volume but tend to have a pretty tame octave. The ones with the strongest octave sound are usually more garbled and don't clean up at all, they just get ever so slightly gated. The later ones had a trimpot that let you dial in the octave bias, but I don't think the ones I've played sound anywhere as good as my non-trimpot gray box Univox.
