I have a regular wind Imperial in the bridge position of my strat, and I love the tonality, but unfortunately it's really overpowering my single coils. I've raised the SC's as high as possible without getting warble noise, and they don't match up in volume as much as I'd like when the Imperial is set in its sweet spot. I know DC Resistance doesn't mean much when comparing pickups made by different people, but for what it's worth my singles are rating up at 5.4 each while the Imperial is at 8.6. Also the single coils are seeing 250K and the humbucker is seeing 500k, wired with 2 volume controls.

I'm wondering if anyone is using the BF Lollar single coils with Imperial bridge in their strat? How does the output match up in this set?

I use this set up often. I use 250 k pots for the volume and T1. I use a 500K for T2 and wire the switch so V1 is neck and middle and T2 is bridge only. The imperial will be fine with a 250 K volume pot, it helps the setup balance better without resisting anything down.

I've run humbuckers in strats with 250K before and thought they sounded muddy. When switching them to 500K, it was like a blanket was lifted off them. But you're saying the Imperial would balance better with 250K?

I have Fralin Blues Specials and an Unbucker in my strat. I tried lots of different configurations. I first had all 250K pots and then all 500K pots. The single-coils sounded great with 250K pots and the humbucker the best with 500k pots. In the end, I now have the exact setup K-Line describes with a combination of two 250k pots and one 500k pot.

Hey K-line. What set do you use with the Imperial HB?

I am thinking of blackfaces, but cant decide about the HB. Low wind or regular? Some people complained about too much difference in output?
Magneto guitars installs Low winds. What do you think?

I am looking in a direction of KWS tone, with a bit more power in the bridge.

How would Bare knucke 63 Veneer PAT pend work with Mule or VHII?

Thank you!
