yes, big loss. They wrote many amazing tunes from the mid 60's onward. RIP.

From a post I made just a week ago in another thread somewhere regarding "First Album You Ever Acquired":

Bee Gees Greatest Hits 1979.

Double album in the triple panel fold out. Spent a lot of time pondering what exact crazy bling Barry Gibb was sporting, as well as trying to strum the intro to Jive Talkin on a little plastic guitar.

Still have this. Was planning to get them all to sign it, but alas, will not come to be. Now one of em is gone, Maurice (or really two if you include Andy), and I'm pissed I didn't see em in Vegas back in 97'.

______________

Less than a week after posting the above, now Robin is gone too. I really really hope Barry tours, even if just under the name "Barry Gibb". It would be a tribute and an honor to a lifetime of work by all the brothers.

Amazing legacy and sad that 2 of 3 are gone. While I never saw their late 1970's live show, I have been told it was stellar. I believe that Showco and Varilites did their sound and lighting-much of which was later used by bands like Genesis. Robin also had an amazing 13th century castle in England that was just incredible.

RIP Robin...and Maurice.
