I have an AnalogMan Mini Bi-Comp that I use to push the CJOD for some lead stuff but I'm interested in stacking it with another OD or boost (sans compression). What are you stacking with the CJOD?

I have an old 96 fulldrive that I use in the comp-cut mode only, as a boost. I hit the CJOD with it and it sounds incredible. FD first, CJ second in line to amp.

I use Everman Fuzzdrive G2 > CJOD > Barber LTD (black) > Boss GE-7 (Sniper mod). TC Jauernig Luxury Drive at the end of the chain, just before my amp. Sounds great.

I typically run a CJOD along with either a Timmy or a Fat Boost, either pedal mixed with it just kills. The AC Booster does a supreme job also.

Great tone is like sex, you just can't get enough of it!

CJ into a Klon. I play pretty overdriven so the CJ doesn't need another push but the headroom of the Klon works great.

i 2nd the everman g2 fuzzdrive as a gooster for it. but, to be honest, i don't think it needs anything to goose it.

Hi Muddy,

Have you ever stacked the CJOD with the Pro Analog Dual Drive?

The CJOD has a ton of gain, so I rarely stack it. When I do, it is usually with a TIM pedal.

sure, with the clean drive channel driving the cjod; worked great. i prefer using the g2 though. better yet, a menatone jac.

Before the CJ, to add a bit of drive, I'm switching between a Tim/Timmy, Zen, and Gainster (new model)...they each add their own flavor. After, an RC Booster for volume boost.

Same here. The CJOD offers as much overdrive and volume boost as I could want, and the Centaur just adds a little "oomph" into my Matchless SC30's input. Perfect combination. Tom

What is a CJOD? Well do you have the secret password? No it is an overdrive made by Clay Jones, so thus it is named CJOD. There were only 50 made, maybe 51 if you count Tomo's one pedal that was converted, I think.

52 counting mine. I think there are a few more out there though.

I play my CJOD through an AC30ish amp on nearly every gig and it sounds incredible.

Ok, I recently got a CJOD,
my first reaction when I plugged it in is probably like anybody elses... Something like.. :dude
It definately runs from a really nice lower gain all the way up to as much as I could ever want. Only downside is there isnt a lot of low end carried through. Smoken for lead work though.

Im having difficulty placing any other drive with the CJOD as it just kinda takes away from the voicing Im hearing in it, which is why its so good to begin with.

I go from my RC to my Timmy to the CJOD. Havent tried another order yet.

Needless to say its got gain to spair for me.

Definately great to hear what others are using with theirs.

Andersonguy, put a boost in front of the CJOD and you may like it. I have a big sounding boost that I push the CJOD with and just love it for live work. The CJOD to me is a great box for distorted rhythms as well. I use mine with the tone knob rolled completely off for chords and leads. When I need more volume, I hit the boost before it.
