Hi, took the plunge and bought a Z Maz 18 NR, noticed it has an effects loop.

Does anyone have an experience using modulated effects in that loop?

I have a Maz38NR so hopefully close enough...modulated effects? I only run 'verb and delay through the loop. Chorus, Vibe, Trem, and Phaser go through the front...

rarely used a loop, but I thought chorus and trem should be put in the loop...I guess i'll have to try. Nice avatar btw !

The MAZ 18 effects loop is not buffered. Put at least one buffered pedal in the loop and it works fine.

What's the problem it being not buffered?

IF you run long cables out to a pedal board, you might hear some loss of highs and punch.

When I use FX in the loop of my Maz, a TC Nova delay is first in the chain. It's a fairly nice sounding buffer (non- true-bypass)

Even a buffered pedal will not help get all your tone back.
A dumbleator type device will be needed.
Otherwise, use the amp as a clean platform for pedals and put everything in front of the amp (THIS is where a buffered pedal will help the most).
