Keyboard wizard and long time Deep Purple member John Lord passed away today at 71.

RIP John and hopefully you will jam with Tommy Bolin again soon.

He will be missed.

This news just breaks my heart. Deep Purple always was and always will be my biggest heroes and my guiding light when I doubt my place in music.

Rest in peace Jon, and thank you for all the music.

With all my love and respect.

I have so much respect for Jon Lord. Truly an inspiration to me during the years when I so needed some inspiration

DP was one of my favorite bands of all time.

Jon was a complete musician who was able to bridge genres and styles so seamlessly you did not realize they were being bridged.

When he would rip on the keys with Blackmore on guitar, playing precise passages in unison, that always made my skin crawl! Havent heard much of that ever since hering it with DP.

A true rock hero.

Highway Star is one of the most driving, inspiring songs I have ever heard. I was 8 when it came out, but, once I heard it, I was floored. Still am.

This one hurts especially he took the Hammond to uncharted territory w/DP sonically and never abandoned his love for Classical composition.

RIP gentle Maestro!

My first concert ever - Deep Purple at Radio City Music Hall - 1974 - we were sitting in the 2nd row to the side of the stage, and I couldn't hear a thing for a week after the show. Amazing show! RIP.
