Hi,
I just saw this on the PRS web site. I think they look very nice.
Especially the grey black.

Here a peek at the grey:

Here's a cherry sunburst:

Supposedly in Sweden at the end of November so in the US they must be out pretty soon.
Something for the Christmas stocking. I'd love one of these with P-90s.
Cheers,

They appear to have the same contour as previous SE models (flat, with some beveling at the cutout).

They look great, and most of the SEs I've played in the last year of so have been decent guitars (especially at that price). I could see myself owning the cherry with a trem....

A sort of cross between the existing SE range and the nicer woods of the top models, at a great price... hmm... GAS... :D

Hmmm, at that price with decent woods/workmanship I might consider one. Not that I really need another guitar ;)

PRS is getting dangerously close to the risk of cannibalism - their low end line is getting good enough that it may eat into the sales of their high end line.

They're flat tops. I don't know how thick the veneer is, but I'd guess 1/8". Not enough to impact the tone of the mahogany, except the extra glue.

They have a plain maple top of substantial thickness covered by a thin veneer of a fancy flame top, getting both the tonal properties and 'the look.'

And here i was thinking i might not buy any more SE's until the come out with a CE version...
that would make 3 SE's and 3 Usa's
That SE Custom would be cool with a 5 way.... Hmmmm
Dave
... would a CE made in korea be a SECE or a CESE????

Anyone have in-hand experience with these yet? They look great.

I played one at GC last weekend. The guitar had a nice comfortable neck, and I don't have very big hands. The pickups sounded nice a clear without being bitey. I have one of the 1st run SE's and I think this guitar is a little bit better. I can get one out the door for $500 which is a heck of a deal.

How do the these pickups compare to the real PRS pickups?
