OK, I just got these this morning.

A few small details to be added (headstock inlay, etc) but this guitar is ready for stain....

I'll reiterate that I love the fingerboard, and the curly maple binding.

Yes Shane-I'll have it with me at NAMM.

Are you going to be at NAMM? If so, I'm also bringing my redwood DOlphin. Your welcome to try them out.

I'd also like to check out the Orca through a Fuchs ODS.

Very cool! I am so looking forward to when I get my pair of Huber Juniors sometime next year. Keeping us updated with developments.

Unfortunately, I am not going to NAMM this year. I am going to Australia for two weeks vaction in early February so that is eating up all my travel funds for the time.

That looks like it's going to gorgeous!

Question, ar these priced along the line of gibson standards or historics if you were to compare?

I'm not really sure-can you tell me were the new Gibson Historics are priced?

I know these are more than Gibson Standards are.

There is a new Orca inthe dealers Emporium for 4100 so I am assuming that most are right in this same neighborhood....

Looks tasty, Greg!
I'd like to check out the Redwood at NAMM. I'm kinda curious as to the tone/weight.

Damn, Nik builds a nice guitar.

It's actually a pretty big neighborhood...LOL!

I was actually going to suggest contacting Cliff or Willcutt for pricing.

That's a spectacular piece that Cliff is selling. And he's getting some more killer stuff-check him out for sure.

Kevan and Cliff-let's get together at NAMM. Bringing the Red Standard, and the Hubers. I may also be bringing my Watson that some people want to see.

Greg- Sounds like a good plan. You've got my number. I'll try to wiggle an amp into the hotel room for the weekend.
Plus we can compare your Hubers and Hamers to my $150 super-store display Strat. Won't that be fun?

:D

I'd be envious if I didn't have my own Huber due at NAMM.
Both will be rather cool...among the rest of his booth :D

Nice looker and I can't wait to check her out!

Coming along nicely! Personally I think that maple top was good enough that it didn't need to be stained. The contrasting stripe on the edge is gonna look way too cool. What color is the back?

The back is going to be natural.

Nik was toying with the idea of not staining, but he felt for this color it needed it. I defer to him on these things....

I have plenty of non-double stain Hamers in the fold--Nik gives me something a little different. :)

Same finish, dif bod. Nik's neck pocket is the most comfortable I've encountered. VegasG and I are bud's and toss Huber ideas back and forth.
I can't wait to try his. These Old Growth 1 piece tops are pretty cool!

That neck joint is cool, I like the access. Why does it stop short of the body though? Can't it be cut right to the contour of the cutaway in back?

I don't know-when you play one, you don't even realize there's a neck joint at all.

Ya, it's not anything you feel. When you pick it up from a stand by the joint it feels oooh so nice.
I run out of notes before I feel anything. It's really a perfect design :dude

Those are amazing in-progress shots of BOTH of those Hubers. The scary thing is that the finished product is always better...

maybe it's got something to do with the strengthening of the joint...images/icons/icon5.gif

this was a subject of discussion and comparison with a friend and his collection of fine guitars just yesterday and all I can add is that if you don't strap your guitar extremely low you got one of the smoothest upper fret accesses near the neck joint ...

Hey Greg I wanted to ask what Old Growth stands for ...
sorry if it's a silly one

It's just an old piece of wood. Has a nice amount of growth rings. I just think it looks cool.

I'm laughing Greg. Those old trees can be like magic lamps. "What's your top been doin' since the gay 90's."*

Congrats! Nik seems to have the McInturff gift for luminous colors.
It's gonna be so bad, you guys downplaying it is a stitch.;)
