I haven't used too many, but I always like the Duncan Distortion model. No one really talks about them, but they still sell them so someone must be buying them.

Suhr Aldrich - super articulate, cleans up amazingly well, and on my Suhr 5 way selector with 2 Aldrich pickups, all settings give a clearly difference voicing
Bill Lawrence L500 - got these on my Washburn N3 and N4. Killer pickup in all body woods
BKP Rebel Yell - articulate and ray gun covers ;-)
DiMarzio Evo - 1 trick pony, but my it does that trick well...!!

Depends.

On my #1 Frankenstrat (Alder): SD SH-6 works best
On my #2 Frankenstrat (Alder): Dimarzio Tone Zone works best
On my LP: BKP Nailbomb works best

I came to that conclusion after trying each and every pup in each and every guitar. Too many variables to evaluate which one "is the best", but these combinations work for me at this present time with the type of equipment I am using.

Depends on the guitar, but right now I'm really digging the DiMarzio Tone Zone in my Alder Hamer USA Diablo...

I also love the stock pickups in the Peavey Wolfgang...

www.smitspickups.com Triple ceramic Dirty Boy bridge and Boosted Classic A5 neck is my go-to set right now - he's even making me three sets of these in 7 string right now. The dB Sig and M14 also rock.

Suhr Adlrich - Got em in my LPCs. My favorite live pickup until I found the Smits.

www.wolfetone.com Blisterbucker/Grey Wolf set. Apparently I'm the only one who orders these, but I have them in a few guitars. Great combination of old school and modern. I have this set in an SG Supreme that is my go-to rock machine. Very versatile. I also have a Fenris/Grey Wolf set in a Carvin Holdsworth that sounds GLORIOUS, tho not as modern as the Blisterbucker. If you want high output but vintage voicing, the Fenris is crazy good sounding.

Anderson H3+ Very similar to my ears to the Suhr Aldrich, HO with a vintage mid focus. To me, the Andersons are a little prettier, the Suhr a little more muscular.

I had some Motor City Pickups that also sounded great (Hell Babys, and a Nuke). I'd like to try some of his newer models. And I have been completely underwhelmed by BKPs (Painkiller 7 set, Alnico Nailbomb, Holy Diver, War Pig).

Currently EMG 81TW, great high gain and excellent single coil tones. I actually leave it split most of the time.

Honorable mention is the Rio Grande BBQ Bucker. It's a bit dark but it's hot as hell and great for leads. Maby not the best choice if you like very bright tones.

They always get a bad wrap but the Gibson 500t is one of my fav high output humbuckers as they have what it takes to push an old Marshall into overdrive yet still sound like a classic humbucker, they clean up decent with guitars volume knob also.

Super distortion. Been using them for years and everything i have tried to replace it gets shot down, if not right away in time. And every time that happens i question what the he|| i was trying to replace it in the first place ! I can't find anything about them i don't like. I even like the way they split. Put them in my first LP in the mid 70's and had them in a lot of strats especially since. The first aftermarket hot humbucker and still the best IMO.

I've had great success with the Dimarzio Super Distortion in an SG, Seymour Duncan Distortion in an Explorer, Gibson Dirty Fingers in a Flying V, and a Bare Knuckle Nailbomb in a Les Paul Studio

Seymour Duncan DimeBucker. Ceramic blade pickup. It really growls when pushed.
