Is there a fix for it? Epoxy should work. Just don't use
hot melt glue unless you want it everywhere.

bases are usualy classed as a problem.
Expoxy may work, but I have no experience with epoxy in "loose bases".
(I just reject them...)

epoxy glue is fine. I loosened a base through fitting a tube while handling the glass instead of the base. A few blobs of epoxy fixed it. Not pretty, and bang goes the resale value, but functional.

A lot easier solution is to just wick some super glue into the gap.

Super Glue is the correct and easiest cure.

Or solder.
Between the base and the tube? I think not, unless you want to short out the tube pins thereby making the tube unusable.

Super Glue is one of many solutions.
Quick and dirty yes.
I'm just not a big fan of it cause of poor shear strength.
It is great for attaching skin though
which it was originally invented. : )

Epoxy is the right fix. Stay away from Cyano-Acrylates, aka super glues. They loosen with heat and are quite brittle when cured. Epoxy will soften slightly with heat but remain a solid adhesive.

Sorry, I meant between the chassis and the socket. Misunderstood the issue.
