Hi
I've got a problem I'm trying to solve on my Valvestate 100R. When I switch it from the clean channel into the overdrive channel there is a delay of maybe 5 seconds before I get any resonse from it. I get the odd crackle and click as I play something, but other than that nothing for a few seconds then it bursts into life. This happens on both OD1 and OD2 channels and it happens even when I click from OD to clean then straight back to OD. Switching between OD channels is fine.
I've changed the tube but it makes no difference.

Can anyone suggest what might be wrong with it?

Cheers

That's one I haven't come across on these amps, but it sounds like a sticking channel relay (like the Mesa in Staff's thread). I don't have a schematic for this amp here, but if it's this it should be fairly easy to find, going from memory there is only one relay in there (although I could be wrong).

Not a whole lot of help for your issue but I have an AVT50 and there is always a loud surge and about a 1sec delay before it actually changes channel. I researched this on the net before and it seems that others have had this complaint with Valvestate amps. I think if a better quality relay was used then there would be no issues. One of these days I'll try to switch it out.
