View Full Version : Martin 000-MMV alternatives?

Hey all, so I'm thinking about picking up a Martin 000-MMV at Guitar Center today, but I was wondering what alternatives I should also consider with the same body style and similar price range (about $1,500.00).
I'm not necessarily married to the idea of a Martin since I already own a D28, but the 000-MMV that I played recently was very nice. Just looking to keep my options open.
Any advice? Thanks!

So there is a 000 MMV now, cool. Both my father and my neighbor picked up one of the Drednaught MMV models a few years ago and it really is tremendous bang for the buck. All solid woods, nitro finish, it's a Martin. If it is of the same quality as the D, I think you would be hard pressed to find a better guitar in that price range.

So I bought it. Sounds and plays phenomenally well. I A/B'd it extensively with the 000-28EC with the thought that I'd just buy the EC if it was that much better.
It wasn't. Outside of some cosmetic features they sounded almost exactly the same. Slight edge to the EC.
These 000-MMVs, and maybe the MMV line in general, might be some of the best values going right now.

used 00028 would be a better buy in my opinion or since you already have a rosewood dred, maybe a used 00018 which would come in around 1500. OR a mew 00015. lots of options
