I run my Jubilee 2558 on 5 nearly all the time. Last night it was a bit quiet so I turned it up to 6. Would this mean it's possibly time to replace the power tubes? It's also been a bit noisey lately. Nothing else appears to be suffering, my highly scientific smell test reaveals nothing.

Sounds like the most likely. Before you shell out on new power tubes though, I'd try a new preamp tube in one slot at a time to eliminate that as a possible cause - you should keep a spare anyway if you don't have one already :). A spare set of power tubes is a good idea too, so if you buy new ones you can keep the old ones as spares anyway - don't throw them out unless they've actually failed, you never know when you may need one.

I'm short on tubes right now. I have to sorta retube a few amps anyways so I'll stock up! I could swap tubes out of my 2555 into the 2558 and use that to determine if the tubes are bad...then I'll go 1 by 1 to figure out what's going on exactly.
I'm still sorta a newb to tubes as far as dying and failing so I look for guidance on these subjects so I can make the best decisions.
Thanks for the reply John! I appreciate it.
