View Full Version : Nash Guitar: Where to find / purchase?

Just curious where you Nash players purchased your guitars?

Saw a couple of sites that have one or two and some on order. The wait time on the 'on order' stock appears to be 6 weeks or more.

Any tips on purchasing a Nash in terms of where and possible discounts from list price would be very helpful.

Thank you in advance,

dave

They are hard to come by and getting harder all the time. I just happened to stumble into Rumble Seat music in Ithaca, NY right after they became a dealer. Never heard of a "Nash" before and didn't think much of the relicing, but I could not put that guitar down. My favorite strat ever. I thank God I got to play it or I never would've known.

Also try Phil's Guitars.

Dave,

I just purchased a Fiesta Red Nash tele from Phil's Guitars. All i have to say is awesome. To get a Nash takes a lot of patience because they
usually sell as fast as the dealers get them.As far as discounts go,good
luck,you'll need it.

They're in St. Louis and they are the largest Nash dealer in the country.

Ask for Dave Hinson...he's the owner. Good guy. Very fair. Does trade-ins too.

Hey Mike,

They have quite a few in stock. S's and T's. Really warm and woody sounding. They have one T there that freaking barks like a Dawg! I think it has Voodoo's in it.

Michael:

I kind of have my eye on a T style that is available at one of the store links provided in this thread. The particular guitar has a rosewood fretboard. What is your take on the difference between rosewood and maple on a tele. Same as on a strat? I'm pretty partial to my strats that have rosewood boards.

thanks for you info. Already emailed guitar showcase for stock. Website doesn't have much info.

Totally dug your pink strat. I'd play that thing on stage in a heartbeat!

Emailed them yesterday. They have one or two on order that I'd certainly buy, but the wait is like 6-8 weeks ... MAYBE!

May have found one on-hand and in stock that might work. I'll keep you posted.

thanks for the info. Did you get to play the sonic blue copy with the rosewood neck? I'm not familiar enough with teles to understand the difference between a rosewood or maple fretboard. Can you clue me in please? Thank you.

My take is that Rosewood on Tele's are warmer and more buttery sounding, yet with that rear pickup position, Lookout! Thick and rich with mucho overtones. That is my take on an ideal Tele.

Funnily enough, I tend to prefer Maple on my Strats.

Yeah that one is a beauty isn't it?

If you want a feel for a Tele with a rosewood neck and how it sounds you could try checking out some clips of the Live at Sierra Center Stage CD with Robben Ford and his brothers playing. He used his rosewood neck tele the whole time through a red knob twin. Personally I thought it sounded great.

Oh and to keep this on subject, I got my Nash Strat the old fashioned way - directly from Bill when he still did that. ;)

I've played the Dakota Red S and the Shoreline Gold S and they both are great...the Shoreline Gold one though....gots some extra mojo. The vintage frets are not my friend but that guitar is really something.

Enjoy the hunt!

check gbase.com it will list a lot of dealers with Nash guitars. If you can't find what you're looking for call Bill Nash and ask he where the next one you want is going.

I have a lightly reliced Nash T-63 in Sonic Blue w/rosewood fretboard and Lollars. Killer sound and excellent player ... very hard to put down...every time I pick that guitar up it's like the way I felt the first time I played it.

I got mine at www.musictoyz.com (http://www.musictoyz.com)

austin vintage guitars is the hidden nash source. Look them up and call for inventory. They've got 2 or 3 teles in right now and about the same amount of strats.

How do you ever catch Brian with them in stock? He always tells me he has a list of 20+ guys waiting and that everyone he get's is sold before it hit's the floor. I ended up gettin' one from Killer Vintage about a year and half ago as I hit the website the day it went up.

PS And yes Brian in the nicest guy around. I'm waitin' on the Grosh Elctrajet...
