I tried to do a search for a topic about this, but the search engine has not worked in 3 days.

So, what do you guys think? I would like a tone along the lines of David Gilmour (older Floyd & stuff off the new CD) not the EMG stuff. Thanks.

Me too, I'd like to see how you guys compare these sets!

I love the CS line of pups. I favor the 54's.

Check out the Fender Discussion Page for more info re: these pups.

The following link has a ton of clips that were recorded with all of those pickups so check it out.

I personally favor the '69's. Dropped them into a 2002 USA Strat and that mother came to life for me.

I am a fan of the Duncan SSL-1's. Similar price range, nice sound. I've never known anyone to go wrong with them. Nice and vintagey.

I read an artical about Gilmour's tone on Dark Side of the Moon and The Wall. They said it was his red strat that was equipped with Dimarzio's. They didn't mention which Dimarzios.

As long as you dont put in Texas Specials....because they suck.

I've been using them for about 12 years or so, whenever they came out, and love them.

I can only comment on the Fat 50s. I installed those in my strat when I finally got rid of my p.o.s. Gold Lace Sensors, and everyone raves about how great my strat sounds. I'm not really considering EVER changing pickups again. But my friends are talking about getting Fat 50s.

It depends on what guitar they're in. Ive had a few Strats with them where they did-- and others where they sounded GREAT.

The only pups that suck outright no matter what are PRS McCartys.:BITCH ;)
