Kicking around ebay and found this Gibson Boneyard that I could never afford (like I could afford any Boneyard).

What struck me about it was how black it looks. Anybody else have one that looks like this? Just wondering.

I'm sorry but that thing is fugly! I'm not an LP player but I still appreciate nice guitars. I wouldn't give $50 for that. Gibson makes much nicer looking guitars than that.

Hey, the opinion was free.;)

I saw an Epiphone Boneyard and I can't imagine how they got that finish. The Epi looked printed or painted or artificially acheived. I couldn't see evidence of printing and I looked closely. The Epi has a matte finish and the Gibby looks glossy. ???. Craptacular looking Epi.

Agreed with previous posts. OTH... find a LP Supreme in Root Beer finish.... heavenly....

i never liked that finish, i loved his black signiture lp though. that one looks more like a badly faded green prs finish than any boneyard i've seen.

Not just better, a hundred thousand times better. That first one looks like they drew the flame on with magic markers.

I've always thought the Boneyards look like toys. Just can't stand em.

But if it floats yer boat, knock yourself out.

I looooove mine for every reason: tone, playability, looks, weight.
I think the pics in first auction above look very green; I've not seen a Boneyard look like that. Here's mine...

from the interviews that were going around at the time, Joe Perry's wife designed the finish color and supposedly the custom shop manager offered her a job on the spot.....

Some of them look better than others, but they could have kept the green classic inlays and used the nice post-03 historic ones, if you ask me....
