Back in late summer of 1975, I camped out on Pelikas beach for 2 glorious weeks. This was before there were any hotels there. There was just a small restaurant that brought in food by donkey or boat. The 20 or so of us staying on or around the beach would gather every night for dinner and wine. Since I had a funky acoustic guitar with me, I provided the entertainment and we'd all get drunk and sing Beatles songs and such.

Paradise!

Yes, I was on a interrail-tour 1977, and 1982.
Thessaloniki and Paros once, Corfu twice.
Stayed at Agios Gordis both times. Last time with Costos and Maria, I think their name was. Pink hotel at the beach. Wonderful !!!
Anyone who remember them?

I hope You have 2 guitars ready, next time I visit Corfu. ;)
A couple of "FIX Hellas", would be nice too. :drool

I don't remember the names, just that they called it Pelakas. We took a bus to a small village on the hill and walked down a path to the beach. Took about 20 minutes or so of walking to get from the town to the beach. There really was nothing there at the time except for the little restaurant. We camped underneath some olive trees adjacent to the beach. There were mostly travellers staying there. Clothing was optional ;)

It really was paradise. You are lucky to live in such a beautiful place!
