I picked up another one of these amps and just found that it does not come with the original footswitch. Would any Marshall two button footswitch work? (I hope)
The footswitch is a 1/4" input and it controls the reverb and the boost.
Thanks.

Yes, any normal two-button latching footswitch should work (not one like Mesa's or the modern Marshall ones with LEDs driven from the switching itself though).
I've never actually seen one of these amps with the original footswitch - and I've owned two of them, as well as working on about half a dozen others - do you know what it looked like?

Yes I do. It's the footswitch in the middle in front of the pedalboard. Only difference is that the face around the switches was gold (matching the front of the amp) not black. This one is from my first 4140 which was modded. Luckily, the modder left the dirt channel alone and modded the clean channel to be a heavier dirt channel.
