Like many of you (I would think) Jimi is the the reason I first picked
up a guitar.......just my little version of 1 of his great works........
still kind of rough mix wise and I still need to work on the ending..
as always, thanks to anyone who chooses to listen.....

I would reply to each one of you but would feel wierd about bumping my post every time.. That's a very honest statement, C#, and I'd like to comment if you don't mind. I've felt the same way, but I also recognize that not everyone comes directly to "Member Soundclips," so when one does thank those who listen, which I feel is always in good form, he also places the clip in the paths of those who fly directly to "New Posts" (or to any of the other means of browsing TGP), ergo, they are privy to what would have otherwise gone unnoticed. So... in my opinion, it's not that one is self-servingly bumping one's own thread, it's that the creator is thanking the folks who have enjoyed the clip. The bump is unavoidable. That's my thought on the matter and feel that it's entirely okay to say thanks. TGP reaches so many countries: the European Union, Great Britain, France, Norway, Australia, Belgium, Switzerland, India, Thailand, Germany, Croatia, Sweden, Israel, Bosnia-Herzegovina, China, Spain, Russian Federation, South Korea, Mexico, Denmark, Singapore, Hong Kong... Wouldn't it be a shame if some enjoyable clip were buried before its time? or if the chance to make a connection somewhere abroad were missed? (And not necessarily a commercial connection.) Lastly, it will eventually drift into the nether regions of the server, maybe resurfacing once in a blue moon due to a search that calls it back to life. Like George Harrison sang, All things must pass away...

I agree with you completely, I would add my comment was based on my own insecurties, NOT on anyone else bumping their own posts..I should of made that more clear....I also have been slacking about donating some $ to this site and am going to resolve that right after I hit submit on this reply..
This site is an amazing recource. Thanks again dude...point taken......

I am glad you wrote what you did about gratitude. I, too, feel funny thanking people thereby bumping my contribution, when I really just want to thank them, thereby bumping my own, thanking, bumping.... etc. (Actually, I did bump my Zep clip when it reached 500 just because I was floored. Now it's up to 9--something. Awesome. I want it to reach beyond a thousand. Why? Heck... why not!!!)
Anyway.... I see that it's your "close" friends that call you C#. Sorry, man. Shouldn't have taken that liberty. I missed that adjective, and since I'm just clacking away here.... Hey, wait... Sub-D IS C sharp! Clever.
You're good to contribute. Maybe I'll follow your lead. It's high time for me, too.
Hi,

I've said it before and I'll say it again... you have got to be one of the smoothest guitars I have ever heard.
There's a radio station we have out here in Southern California call 'The Wave' and you totally would fit in their rotation!

wow wicked, was listening to it and its so wierd and trippy... then i went back to reach down (temple of the dog) and that was like, REALITY CHECK... definately the coolest take on the song. i recently did purple haze for an assessment at school and we did an instrumental version to turn it into a jam track, ended up very cool, very long, and very jammy :D good luck on future endevours man, this is a real creative take, ill go back to being super noob and just enjoying the tracks on this site. Good on ya mate

Sub-D that track is just totally beautiful. The playing, tone and arrangement are excellent sir! What did you use to record all of the bass/drum stuff? Did you play that all yourself or did you use a program? Again, killer KILLER stuff on this track, I love it!

Very Nice, Excellent version, I was reminded of some Wes, Eric Johnson,it's very interesting, esp. near the end,you have a few backward riffs that sound a bit like a bagpipe's tone! :) Thanks much for sharing,a smooth, cool, creative version, you have a nice touch on the fretboard! Way to go!

Yup, that's pretty much my favorite Hendrix tune too. Your fresh interpretation of it shows not only your innovative vision and production skills, but also how deep and durable the composition is. Hendrix is sort of like J.S. Bach in that regard to me...where nearly any key, tempo, orchestration within reason can work. Great work as usual Sub D!

Beautiful clip man! Can you share what guitar and amp you used? You have a very smooth tone.
Thanks dude,
Clean sounds were direct into logic w/my 67 strat w/v60lp mostly neck and middle combo. Overdriven sounds are my Levinson blade back pup SD J.B. single space humbucker into a marshall jmp-1 pre into a boogie 2:90 power amp into 1x12 with a EV speaker mic'd w sm57 processed in logic.....
any smoothness in the overdrive tones are in large part in keeping my picking attack very soft, it is something I really have to do with the marshall, it seems the softer my rt hand touch is the rounder the note, I have read many debates on this site to whether tone is in the gear or the hands and tho this is probably an individual thing, it seems the longer I play the more I find in my case that the sound is very much in the hands when it comes to keeping overdrive somewhat smooth and more vocal. There are times particularly when recording where I can almost feel the tone with my hands......(I know I should be on meds)
That said I can't wait to get a new amp...........
