Hi
I was humbled and wanted to convey double string, woohoo thick sound!, I think I have not been so touched ever before. Anybody can play on a really nice guitar and a powerful sound as it just gets bigger
I hope this will be something she will remember as I once met a guy that looked and played like Eric Clapton and he also sanctified my guitar- yes I was 12 at the time and still remember it as a highlight. I don't remember what he played but it was good.If I could for a moment give that back I certainly would. I think one day she'll be a famous guitarist:angel that I'd like to believe
Yea, I have two daughters that want to sing and play drums, that's fine though guitar....well you know.
Hm, i would have liked to keep that guitar but I could buy two Mad Professor amps for what it fetched........still one of the nicest Les Pauls I have ever played.....
Thank you
BJ

Hi
Thank you Sub-D,
yes she did deserve that from her guts - I bow to her
Pretty Vacant is more home to me- it's just 22 times and at the back of the head down to the soul - severe fun it is. All songs have an extended chord
just a bit longer than you'd think they'd linger.
Oh yea, I'm pretty vacant....
Vid's of above were benevolently provided by fast minded Don aka Donner

Great playing and great sounds. I can't wait to see what you come up with next. The RRB is my new favorite. Thanks again.

Hi Bjorn,
Indeed, that gives me a very happy memory of the fun that was had at ToneFest, as I was standing just off to the side when all of this was being filmed. Fantastic tone, reminds me of some of the sounds Clapton got on the "Beano" album.
What a great time!!!
Your friend,
Doc :dude
Hehe man that was great!!
Sweet girl, reminds me of my three daughters:D
Otherwise....I am on my floor laughing:D

That was touching & very nice of you. I probably would have had her sit down with the gtr. Funny that she would play "Smoke".
Thanks.
Hi,
Nah, she was comfortable standing like any guitarist..........".I'm the Taxman Oh yea,if you want to sit I'll tax the seat....."
Do not get me wrong, if she had wanted to sit I'd have given her a seat, but I think she wanted to learn and would you then not teach?
I'm a punkrocker and do not conform, but I am humbeled and will bend to a new generation and be thankful to give what once given and proud to do that.
Good point,sir!

Hi,
Who's Billy Zoom?
To you sir, maker of fine, inspiring vids.
Oh I play the blues about once every ten years, usually only at weddings, though I'd play with Barry anytime he chooses to.
One thing that bothered me at the Tonefest was that amps were played wide open with guitarist playing different tunes- never touching base
In the videos, Don's Princeton was played at '2' totally clean with just 'R' giving the stadium feel.........oh yea it gets better the louder you play but sometimes you need to keep things down while retaining the feel.....
still it took a short while to hear Barry but once I did....great fun
To all of you sirs

Hey Bjorn,
I truly believe that the Chicago ToneFest was an epiphany in many ways...ESPECIALLY in the kindness that you showed your "student" by your lesson you gave her and in the way(s) that you personally proved how one manufacturer (you of course) could demonstrate THEIR amplifier (the Tube Wonder) also! This was comraderie at the highest level and we now have seen that this can indeed happen (and should continue to happen) between all the boutique manufacturers.
Chicago ToneFest was also where we could see the immediate differences between the European and American manufacturer's attitudes/philosophies. One more thing ...You definitely ROCK dude!
Best,
Dean

Cool Stuff, Bjorn!
Isn't Barry unbelievable?
I told him (not to his face) to write a book on slide guitar technique but with his TV experience maybe a DVD is in order.
You're a very nice man, Bjorn.
Best, Pete.

Hi,
Oh the model'R' was made to fit this amp I had not heard, but heard about and the sound of stadiumrock........it's just a distortionpedal with a particurlar midrange hehehe.
Oh yes sir Pete, frankenstrat has a smile in his eye, and is one you are proud to meet
Ah well, smoke is just the song, isn't it?
Re Billy Zoom:
Please find me a vid of this guy!!!!!!!!!!
from his site:
" Zoom was still searching for something new to conquer, and he finally found his niche in 1976. "My bass player, Patrick Woodward, read me this review in some magazine where they were trashing the Ramones," Zoom recollects. "It said the songs were too fast and too short, too simple; they had stupid lyrics; no guitar solos; no Eagles, no Doobie Brothers, no anything. I said, 'That sounds good to me!"
Woohoo, man your good in my book mr Zoom!!!!!!

As evidenced in your tonefest vids, that midrange voicing and whatever other mojo that you stuffed into the model 'R' seems to turn an innocent Princeton on 2' into a raging fire-breather!!

Hi,
Just wanted to say thank you, Fatback.
It's the first time I hear about X and also the first time I understand youtube and you would forgive my ignorance.
Very interesting guy this Billy Zoom, hm I also want to have a duojet, oh no not more gas please
About making faces, I have rarely done that in live shows, unless for plain fun-I don't play any fancy stuff that needs body support.

Speaking of body support, I find that one can maximize sustain when doing windmills with the right hand. Jump up and down for vibrato. Smile. Repeat until everyone is happy & having fun!!!

Hi BJ,
Yeah, those sweet kids getcha every time! But it also speaks volumes to see a guy on your level do what you did there.
I guess by 'rig' I really meant the Paul and the pedal (?). I had a 64 Princeton; it sounded amazing but not like that!
Thanks for the other vid link. That's one amazing amp you've designed there! Josh's clips sound incredible too!
Take care,
Chris

Hi Anyone,
True they get you everytime
Oh, yes Princeton's are underated amps.
This Princeton I understand had slightly bigger transformers, but otherwise stock, except it had a Celestion Greenback.
Guitar used was a Gibson R9- I have played many Gibsons from 50's to 90's and
this one was one really nice, but then I asked Teddy of Make'n' to lend me his best sounding Les Paul woohoo
Only pedal used on the clips was Model R a demo distortion pedal, I had made for this Princeton, though this show was the first time I heard the amp in real life.
Thank you for the good words and have great fun

Hi Bjorn,
I'm constantly amazed at the fact that you were able to design such an killer-sounding circuit...for an amp you hadn't even heard!!!
Cheers,
Doc :BEER
Hi,
Well, it is a little less complicated than it sounds.....I knew what type of amp and what type of speaker it would have, a Celestion Greenback, and actually the speaker is the final tonecontrol.
Model 'R' was made to show a particurlar midrange, suggested by a guy that plays an MP, with Eminence Red Fangs, though that MP is mostly run for a quite bright country sound, sort of similar to that of a Princeton but at much higher definition and wattage, but this midrange was also something I had talked with Don about at several occassions.
I would not say model 'R' would make just any Princeton sound like that- it's always a question of combinations.
For instance I might think that I have other models that might fit Jensen speakers more closely.
Princetons are fine amps and very portable and you can certainly change the modus of them by selecting speakers, and the 12" and outputlevel allows many combinations and they can be surprisingly loud for their small size. But yes, I know what a Princeton sounds like and also what a Greenback sounds like and also the sound I wanted to make so it's just a question of adding that all up.
Eh, and yes I have little spies, usually with three knobs and a footswitch........
In a way model R is also a 00 spy.......
Oh, and Anyone, I liked the samples Josh made and thanks for the good words.
Cheers:BEER

what pu is it in the les paul you use on the clip??
what pu is it in the les paul you use on the clip??
Hi
Excuse me for taking so long time to answer this- I did not know but asked Teddy Gordon the other day about this guitar, that was the choice as the best sounding Les Paul of his, though alas it was sold, anyway it has Burstbuckers
I can say that it played well with anything I plugged it into and it was very balanced from neck to bridge.
I think Gibson showed once again that they make fine instruments.
You could likely put Burstbuckers on a Tokay, though seriously why not go with WCR's?
Just a thought
BJ
